If you are considering travelling
with us for the first time, then we would like to welcome
you and tell you a little about ourselves.
We are a small, independent tour operator and now in our 21st
year of operation. True to our Sardinian origins, we are inspired
by our deep-rooted love for this beautiful island and our
desire to share some of our favourite places with you. We
therefore have unrivalled knowledge and local contacts, making
us one of the UK's foremost specialists to Sardinia. The properties
we feature are all quality hotels and self-catering villas
and apartments, hand picked to appeal to those looking not
only for luxury, but also for properties with a certain amount
of character and charm.
Our reservations team have all visited Sardinia and there
is always someone you can talk to about your chosen property
or resort. Whether you are looking for a family hotel, a property
near a golf course, a spa hotel, a romantic hideaway or even
a yacht, you have only to ask us.
We pride ourselves on our ability to be totally flexible in
our approach to your travel arrangements. Although we offer
traditional 7 and 14 night holidays, we realise that many
people now have a more independent approach to travel and
may prefer flexible durations or multi-centres. We can prepare
a tailor-made itinerary to suit your needs, making use of
our special contract rates for flights, hotels, car hire and
private transfers. Just tell us what your plans are.
It is true to say that the world of travel has changed beyond
recognition over the past few years. Yet in spite of the Internet,
we find most of our customers still prefer to ring and chat
to a 'human being' about their holiday plans or to tell us
what a lovely time they had when they return. If Sardinia
is your chosen destination this year, then let us show you
our beautiful and unique island.
Very few places are so magnificently unspoilt and undiscovered
as this enormous island; the second largest in the Mediterranean,
with a history dating back 4,000 years. This is a land that
still remains largely untouched by mass tourism, a land where
you can still escape to the interior, explore mysterious ruins,
or ride narrow gauge trains into the mountains. Although part
of Italy for more than a century, Sardinia retains its ancient
and unique culture.
The coastline is one of endless variety: secluded coves, soft,
white sandy beaches, lonely wild beaches and towering cliffs.
Hundred of miles of beautiful scenery await you. Inland, Sardinia
is mountainous and rugged; its unusual flora and fauna include
many rare species, long extinct elsewhere. The interior of
Sardinia boasts countless archaeological sites, the most enigmatic
of which are the 7,000 prehistoric nuraghi - massive stone
structures built entirely without mortar. Were they dwellings
or fortresses? No one knows for certain. See them for yourself
and make up your own mind. Then there are the many fascinating
Roman and Phoenician remains, and the enchanting Romanesque
churches, scattered throughout the countryside.
For most visitors however, the main attraction is almost guaranteed
sunshine, amazingly coloured seas and beautiful beaches. Sardinia
is perfect for a relaxing beach holiday.
Climate
The Sardinian climate is typically Mediterranean, with mild
winters and hot summers. The prevailing wind blows from the
northwest (the dry Maestrale), whilst the hot winds from the
south are known as the Scirocco. Most of the rainfall is in
autumn and spring.

During July and August the pace and temperature increases
and native Italians, including the international elite, arrive,
converging on fashionable resorts such as Porto Cervo on the
Costa Smeralda, making it a magnet for the rich and famous
- with prices to match! Even in high season however, it is
still possible to find small, secluded coves with soft, golden
sand, where you can simply relax and let the cares of the
world drift away. For the more energetic, the major tourist
beaches also provide all the water sports you could wish for,
including windsurfing, water skiing and sailing.
Above all, wherever you go, the warmth of the Sardinian welcome
is still unchanged - and so is the quality of the traditional
local cuisine and our superb wines.
Cuisine
Sardinian cuisine is traditional, local and delicious: the
food varying from area to area. Roast suckling pig is a firm
favourite in mountain areas, whilst on the coast, a variety
of excellent seafood dishes such as octopus, lobster and clam
soup are always on the menu. Sardinian wines are of good quality
and reasonably priced too. Popular white wines include Vermentino
and Nuragus, whilst lovers of red wine will appreciate Cannonau
and Monica. No meal would be complete without Mirto, Sardinia's
after dinner liqueur, which is made from the berries of the
myrtle plant.
Golfing in Sardinia
Sardinia features three spectacular, championship golf courses
of international reputation:
Pevero Golf Club on the
Costa Smeralda, a 18-hole (par-72) golf course. Designed by
Robert Trent Jones located between the bays of Cala di Volpe
and Golfo del Pevero.
Is Molas Golf Club near
Pula, on the south east coast, a 27-hole (par-72) golf course
enjoys a prime location just 10 minutes from the Forte Village.
Is Arenas Golf Club located
north of Oristano, a 18-hole (par-72) golf course. Designed
by Von Hagge and set beautifully amongst the pine forest and
lush vegetation, it has been named by golf magazines as one
of the 20 best new golf courses in Europe.
